The railway-battery entity of the Microtex group
Mysore Thermo Electric Private Limited (MTEPL) supplies batteries for Indian Railways duties from Bengaluru — an RDSO-approved supplier since 1994. This page carries the history and the entity facts a tender file needs; the engineering depth lives at microtex.com.
The history, precisely
The roots are in 1969, when the partnership firm Mysore Thermo Electric Industries was started by Shri A. Govindan with a partner. In 1975 the business was incorporated as Mysore Thermo Electric Private Limited, and it has traded under that name since. Approvals from RDSO — Indian Railways’ Research Designs and Standards Organisation — followed in 1994, and batteries for railway duties have been the company’s work ever since: signalling, traction distribution, diesel locomotive starting, end-on generation, electric locomotive and EMU applications.

FIG. 1 — SHRI A. GOVINDAN (1926–2015)
Shri A. Govindan is also the founder of Microtex. His story — the separators, the PT-bag patent, the engineering lineage — is told in full on the Microtex About page.

The engineering behind every range MTEPL supplies — tubular plate construction, CPRI-tested designs, components made in-house — is documented on microtex.com, along with the people responsible for it: the Microtex story and the team. Specifications, documentation packs and quotations are handled there too, from one enquiry desk for the whole group.
